Cheese & Parma Ham Toasties with Basil Pesto
There isn't much that a tantalising hit of Pesto can't improve, and these Italian-style toasties are a great example. Using Parma ham and a good dollop of our Classic Basil Pesto, a simple lunch becomes an oozy, herby gourmet delight.

How to make the recipe

Step 1

Spread one side of each slice of bread with Sacla’ Pesto

Step 2

Layer the cheese and then the ham on 2 of the slices then top with remaining bread, Pesto-side down

Step 3

Spread the outside of the bread with a little butter

Step 4

Heat a large frying pan over a medium heat and cook the toasties for 4-5 minutes on one side, until bread underneath is toasted (press down gently with a spatula so they cook evenly)

Step 5

Flip the toasties over and cook on the other side for a few more minutes until bread is toasted and cheese has melted

Step 6

Cut in half diagonally and serve straight away
